SKU:
KD-GCVWN-R

The Genesis GCVWN-R drops onto a standard 4" square electrical box and puts mass notification signaling on the ceiling without extension rings, trim plates, or visible mounting hardware. Candela output is field-configurable (selectable A/B/C/D settings) without removing the device from the box - adjust the switch, close the cover, and the setting stays visible through the indicator window.

Built for the commercial installer

White housing with red lens and no marking - built specifically for ECS/MNS applications where mass notification strobes need to be visually distinct from life safety "FIRE" devices. UL 1971 and UL 1638 listed. ADA compliant. Meets CAN/ULC S526-02 and CAN/ULC S524-01 for Canadian installations. CSFM and MEA approved.

Key features

  • Field-configurable candela: selectable output settings (A/B/C/D) adjusted without removing the device from the electrical box
  • Low-profile design: protrudes just 0.60" from the ceiling - 30% slimmer than comparable ceiling strobes
  • FullLight strobe technology: smooth, even light distribution across the coverage area with no specular hotspots
  • No visible mounting screws: unlatch-and-twist cover conceals hardware for a clean finished look
  • Standard 4" box mounting: fits any flush North American 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep, no extension ring needed
  • Synchronizable: exceeds UL 1971 sync requirements when paired with a Genesis Signal Master or compatible sync source

System requirements

Requires a listed notification appliance circuit or fire alarm control panel providing regulated 16-33 VDC or 16-33 Vfwr. Synchronization requires a compatible module (SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, G1M-RM, or equivalent). Indoor applications only. Wiring terminals accept #18 to #12 AWG.

Does this strobe work for mass notification (ECS/MNS) applications?
Yes. The GCVWN-R is specifically designed for Emergency Communication System and Mass Notification applications. White housing with red lens and no marking keeps it visually distinct from life safety FIRE-marked strobes on the same job.
Can I change the candela output after installation?
Yes. The Genesis design allows field-selectable candela adjustment (A/B/C/D settings) without removing the device from the electrical box. The selected setting remains visible through an indicator window on the device.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard flush North American 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" (54 mm) deep. No extension ring or adapter plate required.
Does this strobe synchronize with other Genesis devices?
Yes. Exceeds UL 1971 sync requirements. Compatible sources: SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, G1M-RM, and the Genesis Signal Master. Max 20 Ohms resistance between devices.
What is the difference between this and FIRE-marked Genesis strobes?
The GCVWN-R has no marking and uses a red lens for mass notification and ECS. FIRE-marked models (like GCF-VM) carry the FIRE designation with a clear lens for life safety signaling per NFPA 72.
Is this strobe UL listed?
Yes. UL 1971 and UL 1638 listed. CAN/ULC S526-02 and S524-01 for Canadian installations. ADA compliant. CSFM and MEA approved.
