The GCVWA-R is a Genesis series ceiling-mount strobe built for mass notification and emergency communication systems. It delivers 15 candela output through a red lens with ALERT marking, providing clear visual differentiation between mass notification and fire alarm signals in commercial facilities.

Genesis ceiling strobes protrude just 1.6 inches from the ceiling and mount flush to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box - no extension ring, no trim plate, no extra hardware. The FullLight strobe technology produces smooth, even light distribution that exceeds UL cross-pattern requirements without the bulky specular reflectors found in competing products. Low current draw lets you load more devices per NAC circuit without upsizing power supplies or adding booster panels.

Operates on regulated 16-33 Vdc or unfiltered 16-33 Vdc FWR from a listed FACP or mass notification system NAC circuit. Synchronize with an optional Genesis Signal Master (G1M-RM) or compatible synchronization source for code-compliant flash patterns across all devices on the circuit. Wire connections accept #18 to #12 AWG.

What's the difference between ECS/MNS and Life Safety Genesis ceiling strobes?
ECS/MNS models carry ALERT marking and colored lenses for mass notification. Life Safety models carry FIRE marking with a clear lens for fire alarm use. Same Genesis platform and mounting - the listing and marking determine the application.
Can I change the candela output after installation?
Yes. The Genesis ceiling strobe is field configurable. Twist the cover open, slide the candela switch to the desired A/B/C/D setting, and close it back up. No need to remove the strobe from the ceiling or disconnect wiring.
What electrical box does this strobe require?
Any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box, 2-1/8 inches deep. No extension ring or trim plate needed. The shallow Genesis profile leaves room behind the device for extra wire.
How does synchronization work with Genesis ceiling strobes?
Genesis strobes synchronize at one flash per second via a Genesis Signal Master (G1M-RM) or compatible sync source (SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, BPS6A/10A, APS6A/10A, iO Series). Max wire resistance between any two devices is 20 ohms.
How many devices can I put on a single NAC circuit?
At 15 cd (D setting), the GCVWA-R draws 63 mA typical at 24 Vdc. Divide your panel's NAC capacity by per-device draw for the max count. Genesis low current draw allows more devices per circuit than competing strobes. See spec sheet for all settings.
