The Kidde Genesis WG4RF-HVMHC is an outdoor-rated wall mount horn-strobe that delivers selectable high candela strobe output and a 3.2 kHz horn tone on a single pair of wires. Rated for -40°F to 151°F operation and built to handle weather exposure when paired with the Model 449 surface mount box, it handles exterior egress paths, loading docks, and covered outdoor areas where code requires both audible and visual notification.
Built for the commercial fire installer
The WG4 series runs on standard 24 VDC or 24 VFWR NAC circuits with low current draw, keeping circuit loading manageable on long runs. Genesis synchronization is built in - pair it with compatible sync modules (GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A), the EG1M-RM Signal Master, or any VS/VM/FX Series panel with Genesis sync on board. UL 464, UL 1638, UL 1971, ULC-S525, and ULC-S526 listed.
Key features
- Selectable high candela output: four switch positions cover indoor and outdoor UL/ULC candela requirements up to 161 cd (UL 1971) and 65 cd (UL 1638 outdoor)
- Outdoor rated to -40°F: operates from -40°F to 151°F at up to 95% RH noncondensing
- Low current draw: efficient NAC loading lets you run more devices per circuit
- Genesis synchronization: compatible with GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, EG1M-RM, APS6A/APS10A boosters, and VS/VM/FX panels
- Simple wiring: field terminals accept 12-18 AWG, polarity indicated on wiring diagram
- Red housing with FIRE marking and clear lens for code-compliant fire alarm notification
Mounting requirements
For weatherproof outdoor installations, mount to a Kidde Model 449 (gray) or 74347U (red) surface mount box. Indoor applications use a standard 4 in. square by 1.5 in. deep box. Optional WG4RTS surface skirt and WG4GSKT full body mounting gasket available for smooth-surface installations.
