The Genesis WG4 outdoor horn-strobe handles notification duty in parking garages, loading docks, process areas, and other harsh environments where standard indoor appliances won't cut it. Rated from -40°F to 151°F with outdoor UL 1638 and indoor UL 1971 listings, it delivers field-selectable candela output and configurable horn patterns on a single 24V circuit.
Built for the commercial installer
Wall or ceiling mount on a 449 or 74347U outdoor-rated electrical box for wet locations, or a standard 4-inch square by 1.5-inch deep box in dry conditions. Room-side wiring accepts 18 to 12 AWG, and all connections are made behind the device. The shallow depth of the WG4 leaves room behind the appliance for extra wiring. Optional WG4WTS white trim skirts give a finished look on surface-mount boxes.
Fully compatible with Genesis synchronization protocols - including the EG1M-RM Signal Master, GSA-CC1S/SIGA-CC2A auto-sync modules, and VS/VM/FX Series panels with built-in sync. Precision-timed within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period when used with a compatible synchronization source.
Key features
- Outdoor and indoor rated: UL 1638 (outdoor) and UL 1971 (indoor) listed with a -40°F to 151°F operating range
- Field-selectable candela: four standard output positions (15/29/70/87 cd indoor) viewable through a sealed viewport with no cover removal needed
- Configurable horn output: high or low dB via on-board jumper, coded or non-coded temporal patterns, 3.2 kHz tone for excellent sound penetration
- Low-profile design: shallow depth leaves room behind the appliance for extra wiring in the box
- Genesis sync compatible: works with Signal Master, auto-sync modules, and panels with built-in Genesis synchronization
- Room-side wiring: 18 to 12 AWG terminals, all wiring from the front of the device
Mounting options
Surface-mount to a 449 (gray) or 74347U (red) outdoor-rated box for wet or exposed locations. In dry conditions, mount on a standard 4-inch square by 1.5-inch deep electrical box. The optional WG4GSKT full-body gasket enables flush recessed (in-the-pour/block) installation. The horn-strobe can be oriented with the strobe above, below, or to either side of the horn.
