The Kidde Genesis WG4 outdoor wall strobe delivers visible fire alarm notification in wet, harsh, and extreme-temperature environments without adding complexity to the install. Field-selectable candela output, 24 VDC/VFWR operation, and compatibility with Genesis synchronization protocols keep this device drop-in ready for new builds and retrofits alike.

Built for outdoor and harsh-environment installs

UL 1638 listed for outdoor use and UL 1971 listed for indoor applications, the WG4 strobe handles operating temperatures from -40F to 151F and humidity up to 95% noncondensing. Mount it to a Model 449 or 74347U outdoor-rated surface box for wet locations, or a standard 4-inch square box in dry conditions. Room-side wiring accepts 12 to 18 AWG conductors.

System requirements

Connects to any 24 VDC or 24 VFWR notification appliance circuit (NAC). Synchronization requires a Genesis-compatible sync source when two or more strobes share a field of view. For outdoor surface mounting, use Model 449 (gray) or 74347U (red) surface boxes. Optional WG4RTS trim skirt available for a finished appearance.

What candela settings are available on this strobe?
Four field-selectable settings (positions D, C, B, A). Adjusted via a switch inside the device. The selected setting is visible through a sealed viewport on the front - no cover removal needed after install.
Can this strobe be used outdoors?
Yes. UL 1638 listed for outdoor use, operating from -40°F to 151°F at up to 95% humidity. For outdoor surface mounting, use a Model 449 (gray) or 74347U (red) outdoor-rated electrical box.
What electrical box does this mount to?
