The Kidde Genesis WG4 outdoor wall strobe delivers visible fire alarm notification in wet, harsh, and extreme-temperature environments without adding complexity to the install. Field-selectable candela output, 24 VDC/VFWR operation, and compatibility with Genesis synchronization protocols keep this device drop-in ready for new builds and retrofits alike.
Built for outdoor and harsh-environment installs
UL 1638 listed for outdoor use and UL 1971 listed for indoor applications, the WG4 strobe handles operating temperatures from -40°F to 151°F and humidity up to 95% noncondensing. Mount it to a Model 449 or 74347U outdoor-rated surface box for wet locations, or a standard 4-inch square box in dry conditions. Room-side wiring accepts 12 to 18 AWG conductors.
Key features
- Field-selectable candela output: four intensity settings adjustable through a sealed viewport without removing the cover after install
- Outdoor and indoor rated: UL 1638, UL 1971, and CAN/ULC-S526 listed for maximum deployment flexibility
- Wide operating range: -40°F to 151°F (-40°C to 66°C) covers parking garages, loading docks, and process areas
- Genesis sync compatible: works with GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, EG1M-RM Signal Master, and fire alarm panels with built-in Genesis synchronization
- Low-profile design: 1.4 in. shallow depth leaves room behind the appliance for extra conductor routing
- Red housing, no FIRE marking: clean appearance for applications where code does not require marking
System requirements
Connects to any 24 VDC or 24 VFWR notification appliance circuit (NAC). Synchronization requires a Genesis-compatible sync source when two or more strobes share a field of view. For outdoor surface mounting, use Model 449 (gray) or 74347U (red) surface boxes. Optional WG4RTS trim skirt available for a finished appearance.
