The Genesis EWG Series EWGVMRF is an outdoor-rated wall-mount strobe built for exterior and harsh-environment fire alarm notification. Rated from -40°F to 151°F and suitable for wet and damp locations, it handles parking garages, loading docks, exterior corridors, and covered process areas where audible signals alone won't cover the job. Red housing with FIRE marking keeps it code-compliant and identifiable at a glance on the NAC circuit.
Built for the commercial installer
Field-selectable candela settings let you match strobe output to the space without swapping hardware. Slide the internal switch to one of four positions and confirm through the sealed viewport on the front of the device. UL 1971 listed for indoor wall- and ceiling-mount public-mode notification, UL 1638 listed for outdoor use, and CAN/ULC-S526 listed for Canadian installations. Genesis strobe synchronization meets UL requirements (within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period) when paired with a compatible sync source.
Key features
- Outdoor and indoor rated: -40°F to 151°F operating range, 0-95% RH, suitable for wet and damp locations
- Field-selectable candela: four intensity settings adjustable on-site without removing the unit from the wall
- Wall or ceiling mount: four orientation positions (strobe above, below, or to either side)
- Room-side wiring: accepts 18 to 12 AWG with shallow depth that leaves room for wire behind the device
- Genesis sync compatible: works with Signal Master, auto-sync output modules, and VS/VM/FX Series panels with built-in synchronization
- Trim and gasket options: WG4RTS (red) for clean surface-mount finish, WG4GSKT for recessed box sealing
Mounting requirements
For outdoor or wet-location surface mounting, use a Model 449 or 74347U electrical box. In dry conditions, a standard 4-inch square by 1-1/2-inch deep box works. With the optional trim skirt, step up to a 449 or 4-inch square by 2-1/8-inch deep box.
