SKU:
KD-405-01

The Kidde 405-01 enables tandem sounder signaling across multiple 260-CO carbon monoxide detectors on the same notification appliance circuit. When one 260-CO detects CO and goes into alarm, the module reverses polarity on the NAC, triggering the built-in sounders on every other 260-CO in the group - no separate notification appliances required for CO alert coverage.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

One 405-01 module wires into each 260-CO detector you want in the tandem group. The module sits between the NAC circuit and the detector's terminals, using the existing 14-22 AWG field wiring. 24 VDC power comes straight from the NAC - no auxiliary supply to mount or wire. The whole assembly fits inside the 260-CO housing, keeping the ceiling clean.

Key benefits

  • Tandem CO notification without separate appliances: one detector alarms, all 260-CO sounders in the group activate
  • No extra power supply: 24 VDC powers directly from the existing NAC circuit
  • Fits inside the 260-CO housing: compact PCB module with pigtail leads, nothing exposed on the ceiling
  • Standard wire compatibility: connects with 14 to 22 AWG field wiring already on the job
  • Part of a UL 2075 listed system when paired with Kidde 260-CO detectors

System requirements

Each 405-01 module pairs with one Kidde 260-CO Carbon Monoxide Detector. The tandem group operates on a supervised 24 VDC NAC circuit from a compatible Kidde or Edwards fire alarm control panel. One module per detector in the tandem group.

What does the 405-01 polarity reversal module do?
When a 260-CO detector alarms, the 405-01 reverses polarity on the NAC, triggering built-in sounders on all other 260-CO detectors in the tandem group. Provides CO alert coverage across the zone without separate notification appliances.
Which detectors work with the 405-01?
The 405-01 is designed exclusively for the Kidde 260-CO Carbon Monoxide Detector. It is not compatible with other detector families.
Does the 405-01 need its own power supply?
No. The module draws 24 VDC directly from the notification appliance circuit (NAC). No auxiliary power supply is required.
How many modules do I need for a tandem group?
One 405-01 module per 260-CO detector in the tandem group. Each module wires between the NAC circuit and the detector's terminals inside the 260-CO housing.
What wire gauge does the 405-01 accept?
The module connects with standard 14 to 22 AWG field wiring.
