The K-RLCD-2 is a status-only LCD remote annunciator for Kidde Commercial fire alarm panels. It puts a 4-line, 20-character backlit display anywhere on the building you need eyes on the system — corridors, security desks, mechanical rooms — wired back to the panel over a single RS-485 pair. No common controls means no Reset, Drill, or Silence buttons at this location, which is exactly what you want when the annunciator needs to show status without giving anyone the ability to control the system.

Built for the commercial installer

One annunciator covers the EVOLVE, EVOLVE-ML, FX64, FX1000, VS1, VS4, and VM panel families. Mounts to a standard North American 4-inch square electrical box, or use the optional RA-ENC1/2/3 surface enclosures when there's no recessed box available. Addressing is set via DIP switch — no software, no programming pendant, no laptop required. Communication runs Class B, Redundant Class B, or Class A on RS-485, with maximum wire runs of 4,000 ft over 18-14 AWG twisted pair. UL, ULC, and FM listed.

System requirements

Powered by 24 VDC from the fire alarm control panel or an approved 24 VDC supply (61 mA standby, 90 mA in alarm). Communicates with the FACP on the RS-485 data riser at 9600 to 115200 baud, software-selectable. Compatible panels: FX64, FX1000, VS1, VS4, EVOLVE, EVOLVE-ML, and VM.
