The Kidde Genesis LED EG4SRN delivers clear emergency voice audio on commercial fire alarm speaker circuits without dominating wall space. It flush-mounts to a standard 4-inch square electrical box and protrudes no more than one inch from the wall. Red housing with no marking for clean integration into any interior.

Built for the commercial installer

Field-selectable wattage taps are visible and adjustable through a window on the bottom of the device - the speaker does not need to come off the wall to reconfigure. The included room-side wiring plate keeps terminal access on the installer's side for faster service. Screw terminals accept #18 to #12 AWG wire for both long runs and retrofit into existing conduit. A built-in DC blocking capacitor supports supervised audio circuits without external components.

FAQs

Does this speaker require a separate amplifier?
Yes. The EG4SRN connects to a supervised amplifier signal circuit (25 VRMS or 70 VRMS). It does not generate its own tone - audio is distributed from the fire alarm control panel or a dedicated audio amplifier.
Can I change the wattage tap after installation?
Yes. The wattage setting is visible through a window on the bottom of the device and adjustable by sliding a switch. The speaker does not need to be removed from the wall.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard North-American 4-inch square electrical box, 2-1/8 inch (54mm) deep. No extension ring or trim plate required. Optional surface mount box (EG4RB for red) available for surface-mount applications.
Does this include a DC blocking capacitor for circuit supervision?
Yes. All Genesis speakers include a built-in DC blocking capacitor for electrical supervision of the audio distribution circuit.
Is this speaker approved for sleeping room applications?
The standard EG4SRN is not a high-fidelity 520 Hz model. For sleeping areas requiring NFPA 72 low-frequency signaling, specify a Genesis G4HF Series high-fidelity speaker.
