SKU:
LM-LCE-LPR

The LumiCenter LPR Channel Add-On (LCE-LPR) turns any IP camera on your LumiCenter Plus or Max system into a license plate recognition endpoint — no dedicated LPR hardware, no separate camera investment. The module reads plates in real time, compares them against configurable whitelist and blacklist databases, and fires alerts or triggers access control actions the moment a match is detected.

Built for the security integrator

Software-only, one-time-purchase license. Compatible with LumiCenter Plus and Max only — not available on Basic. NDAA compliant and available for deployments across the USA and Canada. The LPR Search module (LCE-LPRS) is bundled at no additional cost, giving operators forensic archive search on top of live detection. A LumiCenter video channel license is required for each camera running LPR.

Key capabilities

  • Camera-agnostic detection: reads plates from any IP surveillance camera already on the LumiCenter system — no LPR-specific hardware required
  • Whitelist and blacklist matching: compares captured plates in real time and sends alerts via UI, text, email, or API on any match
  • Access control automation: trigger relay outputs — open a gate, run a macro — directly from a plate match without manual intervention
  • LPR Search included (LCE-LPRS): forensic archive search by plate number for investigations, bundled at no added cost
  • NDAA compliant: cleared for federal, state, and municipal security applications in the USA and Canada

Camera and server requirements

Runs on Windows 10 or higher with .NET Framework 4.5.2 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64). Minimum camera resolution is 640x360 at 15 fps — optimal is 1280x720 at 25-30 fps with motorized zoom recommended for longer capture distances. Server CPU must be Intel i7/i9 at 3.0 GHz or higher with AVX2 support; plan one CPU core and 500 MB RAM per camera channel running LPR, plus two additional cores for the OS. Mount cameras 4-6 meters above the road, within 15 degrees of horizontal, targeting 15-20m working distance in urban environments and 20-30m for highway capture.

What LumiCenter editions support the LPR Channel add-on?
LumiCenter Plus (LSC-PLSV) and Max (LSC-MAXV). The LCE-LPR is not compatible with LumiCenter Basic.
Does LPR require dedicated hardware or a special camera?
No. LCE-LPR is a software-only license that runs on the existing LumiCenter server. Any IP surveillance camera already on the system can feed the LPR engine.
Does each camera need its own LPR license?
A LumiCenter video channel license is required for each camera running LPR, in addition to the LCE-LPR add-on. Contact your SS&Si rep for bundle pricing.
Is the LPR Search module (LCE-LPRS) included?
Yes. LCE-LPRS (forensic archive search by license plate number) is bundled with LCE-LPR at no additional cost.
What are the minimum camera specs for reliable plate reads?
Min 640x360 at 15 fps / 50 lux. Optimal: 1280x720 at 25-30 fps with motorized zoom. Mount 4-6m high, tilt within 15 degrees of road. Working distance: 15-20m urban, 20-30m highway.
