LM-LCE-PPE

The LumiCenter PPE Channel Add-On Module (LCE-PPE) brings AI-driven personal protective equipment detection to LumiCenter Plus and Max. Instead of relying on manual walkthroughs or spot checks, the system monitors camera feeds in real time and automatically alerts when workers enter a zone without required gear — before an incident occurs.

Purpose-built for safety compliance

The module uses two neural networks in tandem: a segmenting network that divides the human body into zones (head, shoulders, arms, torso, legs, feet), and a classification network that checks each zone for the correct equipment. This dual-network approach lets the system detect not just whether a hard hat is present, but whether it's worn correctly. LumiCenter logs violations and sends alerts in real time, supporting compliance documentation and incident review. NDAA compliant.

What it detects

  • Hard hats and helmets — presence and proper placement on the head
  • Reflective vests — worn or absent on the torso
  • Protective clothing — full-body coverage verification

Best use cases for installers

  • Entry point monitoring: position cameras at site access points where workers pause — gives the system time to verify gear before entry
  • Restricted zone perimeters: trigger alerts when anyone enters a hazardous area without required PPE
  • Compliance audit support: LumiCenter logs detection events for safety record management and incident review

System requirements

Each LCE-PPE license activates PPE detection on one video channel. A LumiCenter Plus (LSC-PLSV) or Max (LSC-MAXV) base license is required per channel before the add-on applies. For reliable detection, cameras should deliver color video at minimum 640 x 360 resolution and 3 fps, with minimum 200 lux lighting and a tilt angle no greater than 30 degrees from horizontal.

What does the LCE-PPE license actually enable?
It activates AI-powered PPE compliance detection on one LumiCenter video channel. The system uses two neural networks to identify workers without required gear — hard hats, reflective vests, or protective clothing — and triggers alerts automatically.
How many LCE-PPE licenses do I need per site?
One per monitored channel. If you have four cameras covering site entry and hazardous zones, you need four LCE-PPE licenses. Each ties to one video channel in LumiCenter.
What LumiCenter version does this require?
LumiCenter Plus (LSC-PLSV) or LumiCenter Max (LSC-MAXV). The PPE add-on cannot run on LumiCenter Lite or as a standalone product — the base VMS license is required first.
What camera specs are needed for reliable PPE detection?
Minimum 640 x 360 resolution (1280 x 720 recommended), at least 3 fps, color video only, minimum 200 lux lighting, and camera tilt no greater than 30 degrees from horizontal. IR-only or grayscale feeds will not work.
Is this NDAA compliant?
Yes. The LumiCenter PPE add-on module is NDAA compliant.
What is the best camera placement for accurate detection?
Position cameras at entry points or zone perimeters where workers pause and face the camera. Avoid extreme angles and keep the full upper body visible in frame. Best results when the person is not partially occluded.
