  • Size11.6 x 5.5 x 1.7 in
  • CompatibilityOmada controller managed

The Omada ES216G is a 16-port Gigabit Easy Managed switch for a wiring closet or small rack that needs VLANs and loop protection without a Smart switch price. It adopts into the same Omada site as the gateway and access points.

Built for small racks and wiring closets

All sixteen ports are 10/100/1000 RJ45 with 32 Gbps of switching capacity. The fanless metal case sits on a desk or mounts in a 1U rack with the included brackets and screws. 802.1Q, MTU and port-based VLANs, IGMP snooping and loopback detection are built in.

Key features

  • 16 Gigabit RJ45 ports: uplink, recorder and a full run of drops on one switch
  • VLANs and IGMP snooping: 802.1Q tagging with up to 32 VLAN groups, plus MTU and port-based VLANs
  • Loop protection: loopback detection catches a patching mistake before it takes the site down
  • Fanless, 1U rack or desktop: silent in use, brackets and screws included, with a physical security lock slot
  • Omada management: zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the cloud controller

System requirements

Powered from a 100-240V AC outlet with the included power cord. This model has no PoE output. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller; zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its web interface.

FAQs

Does the ES216G have PoE?
No. All sixteen ports are data only. For PoE, see the ES220GP or ES220GMP, or use PoE injectors.
Does it rack mount?
Yes. It mounts in a 1U rack with the included brackets and screws, or sits on a desk on the rubber feet.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface. A controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Does it support VLANs?
Yes. 802.1Q tag VLAN with up to 32 VLAN groups, plus MTU VLAN, port-based VLAN and port isolation.
Is it loud?
No. It is fanless, so it is silent in a rack or on a desk.
