The Omada SG2016P is a 16-port Gigabit Smart switch with eight PoE+ ports and a 120 W budget, a good fit for a mid-size camera and access point deployment where a rack is overkill. It is managed in the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for mixed PoE and data closets

Ports 1 to 8 supply 802.3af/at PoE+ for cameras, APs and phones, and ports 9 to 16 stay data only for uplinks, NVRs and workstations. 802.1Q VLANs, static routing, a DHCP server, 802.1X and ACLs keep camera, voice and guest traffic segmented. The fanless steel case sits on a desk or mounts on a wall.

Key features

  • 8 PoE+ ports, 120 W total: 802.3af/at for cameras, APs and IP phones
  • 16 Gigabit ports: with the extra eight left for uplinks, NVRs and workstations
  • VLANs, static routing and ACLs: up to 4K VLAN groups and 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes
  • Fanless steel case: silent in an office, desktop or wall mount
  • Omada management: zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the cloud controller

System requirements

Uses the included 53.5V DC external power adapter. Powered devices must be 802.3af or 802.3at compliant. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

How many PoE cameras can the SG2016P power?
Eight ports are PoE+ sharing a 120 W budget. Divide 120 W by each camera's max draw to size the job.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface and CLI. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It has 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs without a separate router for small sites.
Is it fanless?
Yes. It has no fan, so it is silent in an office or on a wall.
Can it be rack mounted?
The datasheet lists desktop and wall mounting, and the box includes rubber feet and no rack ears.
