The Omada ES228GMP is a 28-port Gigabit Easy Managed switch with twenty-four PoE+ ports and a 384 W budget, a rack-mount fit for a large camera or AP install. Two SFP slots handle fiber uplinks.
Built for 24-camera and large wireless installs
Twenty-four ports deliver 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W each from the 384 W budget, with two more RJ45 ports for data and two Gigabit SFP slots for fiber. Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE keep devices up through a switch reboot, and PoE reach extends to 250 m at a reduced 10 Mbps link. It has two fans, rated 13.7 to 45.2 dBA at 1 m, so plan the rack location.
Key features
- 24 PoE+ ports, 384 W total: 802.3af/at at up to 30 W per port for cameras, APs and phones
- 2 Gigabit SFP slots plus 2 data ports: fiber uplinks or links to a recorder and a second switch
- Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE: devices power up early and stay powered through a switch reboot
- PoE reach to 250 m: long camera runs at a reduced 10 Mbps link speed
- 1U rack mount: brackets and screws included, with a physical security lock slot
System requirements
Powered from a 100-240V AC outlet with the included power cord. Powered devices must be 802.3af or 802.3at compliant. The SFP slots need separate Gigabit SFP modules. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller on built-in version 6.1.0 or later; zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its web interface.
