The DS106GPP is an unmanaged 6-port Gigabit desktop switch with one 802.3bt PoE++ port and three PoE+ ports, the compact answer when a job has one high-draw device, such as a power-hungry camera or AP, plus a few standard ones. Plug it in and it works.

Built for one big PoE load and a few small ones

Port 1 supports 802.3af/at/bt and delivers up to 60 W, and ports 2 to 4 deliver up to 30 W each, all from a shared 64 W budget. Extend mode on ports 1 and 2 pushes PoE and data out to 250 m at reduced speed, and PoE auto recovery restarts a powered device that stops responding. The case is fanless.

Key features

  • One PoE++ and three PoE+ ports: 802.3bt on port 1, 802.3af/at on ports 2-4
  • 64 W shared budget: port 1 up to 60 W, others up to 30 W each
  • Extend mode to 250 m on ports 1 and 2 for long runs
  • PoE auto recovery: restarts a frozen PoE device on ports 1-4
  • Plug and play: unmanaged and fanless, nothing to configure

System requirements

None. Uses the included 53.5 V DC external power adapter. Powered devices must be 802.3af, 802.3at or, on port 1, 802.3bt compliant.

FAQs

Which ports on the DS106GPP have PoE?
Ports 1 to 4. Port 1 is 802.3af/at/bt PoE++ up to 60 W; ports 2 to 4 are 802.3af/at PoE+ up to 30 W. Ports 5 and 6 are data only.
What is the total PoE budget?
64 W shared across ports 1 to 4. Port 1 alone can use up to 60 W, which leaves little for the others.
Can it reach a camera more than 100 m away?
Yes. Extend mode on ports 1 and 2 carries PoE and data up to 250 m, and the port speed drops to 10 Mbps.
Does this switch need to be configured?
No. It is unmanaged and works out of the box. There is no web interface or VLAN support.
Can it join an Omada controller?
No. TP-Link states Omada unmanaged switches do not support Omada SDN central management.
