The Kidde Genesis LED EGCS ceiling speaker-strobe delivers high-candela visual notification and clear audio from a single low-profile ceiling-mount appliance. The EGCSVHRN is the high-candela model - field-selectable 135 or 185 cd - built for large open spaces, atriums, and high-ceiling applications where standard 15/30/75/115 cd devices fall short. Genesis LED technology draws significantly less current than incandescent equivalents, so you run more devices per NAC circuit without oversizing the panel or adding booster power supplies.
Built for the commercial fire installer
The EGCSVHRN mounts to any standard 4-inch square or octagonal electrical box and includes a room-side wiring plate for clean, accessible termination without pulling the device off the ceiling. Operating on 16-33 VDC regulated or 16-33 VFWR circuits, it fits existing 24V NAC infrastructure. Field-selectable speaker wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) let you tune audio output to the space at the device, no hardware swap needed. UL 1480 and UL 1971 listed, ULC-S541 recognized, CSFM approved.
Key features
- High-candela output: field-selectable 135 or 185 cd for spaces where standard candela devices don't reach code
- LED strobe technology: no bulb replacements, lower current draw per device, longer field life
- Field-selectable speaker taps: 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, or 2W - match coverage to the room without changing hardware
- Room-side wiring plate included: terminate and service wiring from the finished side of the ceiling
- Standard electrical box mounting: drops onto 4-inch square or octagonal boxes already roughed in on the job
- DERA optics: direct-evacuation rib assembly distributes strobe light evenly across the coverage area
- Low current draw: more appliances per NAC circuit, fewer booster supplies, lower installed cost
System requirements
Requires a 24V regulated DC or full-wave rectified (FWR) notification appliance circuit from a compatible FACP. Wire with 12-18 AWG conductors. Temporal or non-temporal tone pattern selected by circuit wiring configuration.
