SKU:
KD-EGCVHWN

The Kidde Genesis LED EGC Series EGCVHWN puts high-candela ceiling strobe coverage on the job without the current draw penalty of legacy xenon appliances. Field-selectable at 135 or 185 cd, it handles large open spaces and high-ceiling applications where standard-candela strobes fall short - all on a single SLC or NAC circuit.

Built for the commercial fire installer

UL 1971 and ULC S526 listed, ADA compliant. Runs on 12V or 24V DC (regulated and filtered/FWR), drawing significantly less current than conventional xenon strobes at the same candela output. Genesis LED synchronization works without an external sync module - multiple units on the same NAC flash in unison out of the box. White housing with no marking keeps it clean for architecturally sensitive spaces.

Key features

  • Field-selectable 135/185 cd output: covers large and high-ceiling spaces that standard-candela units can't reach
  • LED technology with low current draw: run more devices per NAC circuit without upgrading power supplies
  • Built-in Genesis synchronization: synchronized flash across all units on the same circuit without an external module
  • Room-side wiring plate (GP10) included: wire connections accessible from the room side for faster install and service
  • Mounts on standard 4-inch square electrical box: no special hardware or adapters required
  • UL 1971 / ULC S526 listed, ADA compliant

System requirements

Connects to any fire alarm control panel NAC circuit (12V or 24V DC regulated/FWR) or SLC loop supporting Genesis-compatible notification appliances. Compatible with Genesis Signal Master for multi-appliance synchronization.

Does this strobe require an external sync module?
No. Genesis LED strobes sync automatically via the built-in Genesis protocol. All units on the same NAC circuit flash in unison without additional hardware. Compatible with Genesis Signal Master for cross-circuit synchronization.
Can I mix high candela and standard candela Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. High candela (135/185 cd) and standard candela (15/30/75/115 cd) Genesis LED devices share the same NAC circuit. Each device's candela is set independently on the unit. Account for different current draws when calculating total NAC load.
What's the difference between 135 cd and 185 cd settings?
Both settings are field-selectable on the device. 185 cd covers larger open areas or higher ambient light. 135 cd handles most standard commercial ceilings. NFPA 72 and ADA dictate required candela based on room size and geometry.
What mounting hardware does this strobe require?
Mounts directly on a standard 4-inch square electrical box. No special adapter plates or brackets needed. The room-side wiring plate (GP10) is included in the box for front-accessible wiring connections.
Does this work on both 12V and 24V fire alarm panels?
Yes. The EGCVHWN operates on 12V DC or 24V DC, regulated and filtered (FWR). It connects to the panel's NAC circuit or SLC loop. Verify your panel's NAC voltage and available current capacity before specifying.
