The Kidde EGCSVHWA is a Genesis LED EGCS Series ceiling-mount speaker-strobe that combines high-candela visual notification (135/185 cd field-selectable) with a high-fidelity speaker on a single NAC circuit connection. White housing with ALERT marking makes it the right fit for mass notification and general alarm applications in commercial spaces where ceiling-mount coverage is required.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The Genesis LED EGCS platform mounts to standard 2-gang or 4-inch square electrical boxes (minimum 1-1/2" deep), keeping the install on common hardware. Field-selectable candela (135 or 185 cd), speaker wattage (1/4W to 2W), and voltage (25VRMS or 70VRMS) let you configure at the device instead of ordering separate SKUs. The included room side wiring plate (GRSW) allows field wiring from the front of the device after the backplate is mounted.

System requirements

Connects to any Kidde-compatible NAC circuit, including CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Intelligent or Conventional Fire Alarm Control Panels. Strobe synchronization is automatic when connected to a compatible Kidde sync source. Audio source (tone or voice) is supplied by the panel or audio controller driving the 25V/70V speaker circuit.

What candela settings does the EGCSVHWA have?

135 cd and 185 cd, field-selectable via DIP switch. This is the high-candela variant of the Genesis LED EGCS ceiling speaker-strobe line, designed for large open spaces and high-ceiling applications.

Can Genesis LED EGCS devices share a circuit with legacy Xenon Genesis devices?

Yes. Genesis LED devices are backward-compatible with existing Genesis circuits and sync sources. LED and Xenon devices can operate on the same NAC circuit without modifications.

Does this speaker support 520Hz low frequency tones?

Yes. The EGCS platform is 520Hz capable for sleeping area notification per NFPA 72, when paired with an approved audio source providing the factory-supplied 520Hz tone.

What electrical boxes does this mount to?

Standard 2-gang or 4-inch square electrical boxes with a minimum depth of 1-1/2". No special mounting hardware required.

What synchronization sources are compatible?
