SKU:
KD-EGCVHRF

The Genesis LED EGC Series EGCVHRF ceiling strobe delivers 135 or 185 cd of field-selectable light output from a low-profile LED platform that drops into standard 4-inch boxes. High-candela coverage handles large open areas and high ceilings where standard-output strobes fall short - all at a fraction of the current draw of legacy xenon devices.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The EGC Series runs on 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR NAC circuits and synchronizes with Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster power supplies, and both intelligent and conventional Kidde fire alarm control panels. LED technology means the strobe can share NAC circuits with existing Genesis xenon devices without sync issues, simplifying retrofits and expansions on existing jobs.

Room side wiring plate (GP10) is included - pull the strobe off the ceiling for service without disturbing the wiring or backbox. Red housing with FIRE marking meets AHJ visibility requirements for commercial occupancies.

Key features

  • 135/185 cd field-selectable output for high-ceiling and large-area coverage per NFPA 72
  • LED technology draws significantly less current than xenon equivalents on the same NAC circuit
  • Room side wiring plate included - service the device without disturbing ceiling wiring
  • Low profile design at 1.82" depth from the mounting surface
  • Compatible with existing Genesis xenon strobes on the same synchronized NAC circuit
  • UL 1971, ULC-S526, and FM Approved for code-compliant installations

System requirements

Requires a 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR NAC circuit from a compatible Kidde fire alarm control panel. Mounts to 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square electrical boxes. Wire size: 12-18 AWG. Synchronization via Kidde CC Series signal modules or compatible control panels.

Does this strobe work with existing Genesis xenon devices on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. The Genesis LED EGC Series is backward-compatible with Genesis xenon strobes on the same synchronized NAC circuit. You can mix LED and xenon Genesis devices on the same loop without sync issues.
What candela settings are available on the EGCVHRF?
The EGCVHRF offers 135 cd and 185 cd field-selectable output via a slide switch. This is the high-candela variant of the EGC ceiling strobe, built for large open areas and high ceilings where standard strobes fall short.
What electrical boxes does this strobe mount to?
The EGC Series mounts to 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes. Optional trim plates (EGCTR for red, EGCTW for white) and surface mount boxes (27193-21 red, 27193-26 white) are available separately.
Can I service the strobe without pulling the backbox from the ceiling?
Yes. The included GP10 Room Side Wiring Plate lets you disconnect and remove the strobe from the room side without touching the ceiling wiring or backbox. This saves significant time on service calls.
Is this strobe compatible with non-Kidde fire alarm panels?
It operates on any 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR NAC circuit. Synchronization requires Kidde CC Series signal modules or compatible Kidde panels. On third-party panels, the strobe functions but sync timing requires a Kidde sync module.
What is the difference between the high-candela EGC strobe and the standard version?
The standard EGC ceiling strobe (EGCVRF) offers 15, 30, 75, and 115 cd. The high-candela EGCVHRF offers 135 and 185 cd for large areas, high ceilings, and atriums where standard strobes don't meet NFPA 72 spacing requirements.
