SKU:
KD-EGCVRN

The Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling strobe delivers field-selectable 15, 30, 75, or 115 candela output from a low-profile LED package that draws just 35 mA on DC circuits. Fewer power supplies, lighter conduit, longer wire runs - the EGC cuts install overhead on new builds and drops right into existing NAC circuits alongside legacy Xenon strobes on retrofit jobs.

Built for the commercial fire installer

UL 1971-listed for indoor ceiling-mount public-mode notification, the EGCVRN is the red housing with no marking - ready for applications where "FIRE" text isn't required or where you need a blank face for a replacement cover. Strobe synchronization exceeds NFPA 72 requirements (within 10 ms over a two-hour period) when paired with a Kidde CC Series synchronization source. The universal GP10 room side wiring plate ships with every unit for pre-wire and continuity verification before the device snaps into place.

Key features

  • Ultra-low current draw (35 mA DC): more devices per NAC circuit, fewer booster power supplies, smaller wire gauge
  • Field-selectable candela (15/30/75/115 cd): change output under the cover without removing the device from the ceiling
  • Backwards compatible with Xenon strobes: mix LED and legacy devices on the same circuit and in the same field of view
  • Universal mounting: fits 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes
  • Pre-wire ready: GP10 room side wiring plate included with diagnostics check bar for continuity verification
  • Quick-swap covers: change housing color or marking (FIRE, ALERT, None) without replacing the device

System compatibility

Synchronizes with Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Kidde Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Wire size: 12 to 18 AWG. Maximum 20 Ω between any two synchronized devices.

Can I mix this LED strobe with existing Xenon strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED EGC strobes can be mixed on the same NAC circuit and used in the same field of view as legacy Xenon-based strobes. No need to replace every device when upgrading to LED.
What candela settings are available and how do I change them?
The EGCVRN supports 15, 30, 75, and 115 cd output. Remove the cover, slide the candela switch to the desired setting, and replace the cover. The device stays on the ceiling the entire time.
What electrical boxes does this ceiling strobe fit?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes (minimum 1-1/2" deep). Optional EGCTR (red) or EGCTW (white) trim plates cover oversized openings.
Does this strobe meet NFPA 72 synchronization requirements?
Yes. Paired with a Kidde CC Series sync source (Signal Modules, Booster/Auxiliary Power Supplies, or Control Panels), synchronization stays within 10 ms over two hours, exceeding UL requirements.
Can I change the housing color or marking after installation?
Yes. Quick-swap replacement covers let you change between FIRE, ALERT, or no marking, and between red and white housing, without replacing the strobe itself. Covers snap on without tools.
What is the room side wiring plate that comes included?
The GP10 wiring plate mounts to the electrical box during rough-in, letting you land wires and verify circuit continuity before the strobe is installed. When the job is ready, the strobe snaps onto the plate without re-wiring.
