The Genesis LED EGC Series EGCF-VMH is a ceiling-mount strobe built for commercial fire alarm notification. Its low-profile housing sits just 1.5 inches off the mounting surface, and the field-selectable candela switch (15, 30, 75, or 115 cd) lets installers dial in the right output for the space without swapping the device.

Built for the commercial installer

Genesis LED strobes use patented LED technology with a wide-angle lens that distributes light evenly across the coverage area. The low current draw - as low as 35 mA per strobe at 16-33 VDC - means more devices per NAC circuit and fewer power supplies on the job. UL 1971 and ULC-S526 listed, FM Approved, and FCC compliant. Backwards compatible with legacy Xenon Genesis strobes on the same circuit, so upgrades don't require full system replacement.

Can I mix Genesis LED EGC strobes with existing Xenon Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED EGC strobes are backwards compatible with legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes and can share the same NAC circuit in the same field of view. Synchronization between LED and Xenon models meets UL requirements.
How do I change the candela setting in the field?
Remove the front cover to access the candela selector switch. Slide it to 15, 30, 75, or 115 cd. The selected setting stays visible through a small inspection window after the cover is reinstalled. No need to remove the device from the backplate.
What electrical boxes does this strobe fit?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. Boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. (3.81 cm) deep. A room-side wiring plate (GP10 or GSRW-10) is included.
What synchronization source does this strobe require?
Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster or Auxiliary Power Supplies, or compatible Kidde Intelligent or Conventional Control Panels. Genesis strobes exceed UL synchronization requirements (within 10 ms over a two-hour period).
Is the FIRE marking removable or changeable?
The FIRE marking is on a quick-swap replacement cover, not permanently printed on the housing. Replacement covers are available in FIRE, ALERT, or unmarked configurations.
