The Kidde Genesis LED EG1ARF is a compact wall-mount horn built for commercial fire alarm notification. Selectable high and low dB output settings let you meet code requirements across different spaces without swapping devices, and T3 temporal or constant tone patterns cover standard alarm signaling needs.

Built for the commercial installer

The EG1 Series mounts directly to single-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch square, and 4-inch octagon electrical boxes with no adapter plates or special hardware. Genesis quick-swap covers let you change the notification type at the device without pulling wire. UL 464, UL 1638, and UL 1971 listed. ADA compliant. FCC and CSFM approved.

Connects to any fire alarm control panel (FACP) with standard NAC circuits operating between 16 and 33 VDC or VFWR. Wire size: 12 to 18 AWG. Optional trim rings (EG1TR red, EG1TW white) available separately for a finished look on any mounting surface.

What electrical boxes does the EG1 Series mount to?
Mounts directly to single-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch square, and 4-inch octagon boxes. No adapter plate needed.
Can I change the dB output in the field?
Yes. The EG1ARF has a selectable switch for high (85 dBA reverberant) or low (80 dBA reverberant) output at the device.
What FACP voltage range does this horn support?
16 to 33 VDC and 16 to 33 VFWR. Compatible with standard NAC circuits from most fire alarm control panels.
What is the current draw on a NAC circuit?
Low setting: 13 mA (DC) / 15 mA (FWR). High setting: 23 mA (DC) / 29 mA (FWR). Low draw means more devices per NAC loop.
Can I swap covers without rewiring?
Yes. Genesis quick-swap covers let you change from horn to strobe or horn-strobe at the device without touching the wiring.
Is this horn ADA compliant?
Yes. The EG1ARF meets ADA requirements for audible fire alarm notification. UL 464, UL 1638, and UL 1971 listed.
