SKU:
KD-EG1AWN

The Genesis LED EG1AWN is a compact wall-mount horn that fits flush to a standard 1-gang electrical box and protrudes just 1 inch from the mounting surface. Field-selectable sound output (high or low dB) and pattern switches (temporal Code 3 or constant) let you configure it on the wall without pulling the backplate - slide switches and a visible settings window handle everything from the front.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

Running on 16 to 33 VDC or VFWR NAC circuits, the EG1AWN draws as little as 13 mA on low output - which means more devices per circuit and fewer power supply runs. Genesis LED synchronization keeps multiple horns on the same circuit coded to NFPA 72 requirements. The compact single-gang form factor eliminates oversized backboxes, and the no-visible-screws cover design keeps the finished install clean.

Key features

  • Single-gang mounting: fits standard 1-gang boxes with no trim ring required. Optional EG1T trim ring covers 4-inch square boxes
  • Ultra-low profile: protrudes about 1 inch from the mounting surface
  • Field-selectable output: high (85 dBA) or low (80 dBA) reverberant, temporal or constant pattern via slide switches
  • Low current draw: 13 mA (low) to 23 mA (high) on 16-33 VDC NAC circuits
  • Genesis LED synchronization: compatible with Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster and auxiliary power supplies, and intelligent and conventional control panels
  • Diagnostic test points: under-cover access for in-place NAC circuit verification
  • Quick-swap covers: change between FIRE-marked and unmarked covers in the field without rewiring

Compatibility

Works with Kidde CC Series NAC circuits, including signal modules, booster power supplies, auxiliary power supplies, and both intelligent and conventional fire alarm control panels. Genesis LED devices can be mixed with legacy Xenon-based strobes on the same circuit, so you can upgrade a building one device at a time without replacing every appliance on the loop.

What electrical boxes does the EG1AWN mount to?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square electrical boxes. No trim ring needed for 1-gang boxes. The optional EG1T trim ring covers oversized openings on boxes greater than 3 inches wide.
Can I mix Genesis LED EG1 horns with existing Xenon strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED EG1 devices are backwards compatible with legacy Xenon-based strobes. You can mix them on the same circuit and upgrade a building one device at a time.
How do I switch between temporal and constant horn output?
Slide the tone selector switch on the device. Factory default is T3 temporal (Code 3) per NFPA 72. Constant output is also available. Setting is visible through a window without removing the cover.
What is the current draw on a 24V NAC circuit?
Low dB output: 13 mA (VDC) or 15 mA (VFWR). High dB output: 23 mA (VDC) or 29 mA (VFWR). Low current draw means more devices per NAC circuit and fewer power supply runs.
Is the EG1AWN compatible with Kidde intelligent fire alarm panels?
Yes. Compatible with Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster and auxiliary power supplies, and both intelligent and conventional fire alarm control panels.
Can I add a FIRE marking to this horn later?
Yes. Quick-swap covers let you change between FIRE-marked and unmarked covers in the field without rewiring. Order the matching Genesis LED EG1 cover in white or red with FIRE marking.
