SKU:
KD-EG1AVWF

The Genesis LED EG1AVWF is a compact wall-mount horn strobe that covers a wide range of commercial fire alarm applications with a single SKU. Field-selectable candela output (15, 30, or 75 cd) and switchable high/low dB horn settings let installers match the device to the space without swapping hardware or carrying multiple models on the truck.

Built for the commercial installer

Part of the Kidde Genesis LED EG1 Series, this device mounts on standard 1-gang electrical boxes with no trim ring required. Optional EG1T trim rings accommodate 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. LED strobe technology draws significantly less current than legacy Xenon strobes, reducing power supply requirements and simplifying NAC circuit design. UL 1971 and UL 1638 listed. FCC and CSFM approved. ADA compliant.

Key features

  • Selectable 15, 30, or 75 cd output - configure candela via slide switch without removing the device from the wall
  • High or low dB horn output with temporal (T3) or constant tone selection for code-compliant notification
  • LED technology reduces current draw - fewer power supplies, smaller wire runs, simpler NAC circuit design
  • Mounts on standard 1-gang boxes - no special hardware, clean flush appearance when covered
  • Backward compatible with Xenon-based Genesis strobes - mix LED and Xenon on the same NAC circuit and in the same field of view
  • Under-cover diagnostic test points for in-place circuit verification without dismounting the device

System requirements

Operates on 16 to 33 VDC or 16 to 33 VFWR notification appliance circuits. Synchronization requires Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, or compatible Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Wire size: 12 to 18 AWG.

Can I mix Genesis LED EG1 strobes with older Xenon Genesis strobes on the same circuit?
Yes. EG1 LED strobes are backward compatible with legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes and can share the same NAC circuit and field of view.
How do I change the candela setting?
Remove the cover and slide the candela switch to the desired setting (15, 30, or 75 cd). The device does not have to be removed from the wall. The selected setting is visible through a window on the side of the device after the cover is replaced.
What electrical boxes does this fit?
Mounts directly on standard 1-gang boxes with no trim ring required. Optional EG1T trim rings accommodate 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. Boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. deep.
What synchronization sources work with this device?
Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and compatible Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Maximum 20 ohm loop resistance between any two synchronized devices.
Is this device ADA compliant?
Yes. All Genesis LED EG1 Series models comply with ADA code of federal regulation Chapter 28 Part 36 final rule. UL 1971 listed for public-mode visual notification.
