The Kidde Genesis LED EGC Series ceiling-mount horn/strobe combines high-output LED strobe technology with efficient audible notification in a low-profile package that sits under two inches off the ceiling. Designed for commercial fire alarm systems, it runs on existing NAC circuits at a fraction of the current draw of legacy Xenon strobes - meaning more devices per circuit, longer wire runs, and fewer booster power supplies on the job.
Built for the commercial installer
The EGC mounts to standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square electrical boxes using the included GP10 room-side wiring plate. Pre-wire and verify continuity before snapping the device into place - no guesswork, no callbacks. Field-selectable candela and dB output settings are accessible under the cover without removing the device from the ceiling. UL 1971 listed, ULC certified, and FM Approved.
Key features
- Ultra-low current draw: LED technology puts more devices on each NAC circuit and cuts the need for additional booster power supplies
- Field-selectable candela: adjust light output on site to match the space without swapping hardware
- Selectable horn output: high or low dB, constant or temporal (TC3) pattern, configurable via slide switches
- Backwards compatible: mix on the same circuit and field of view as legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes for phased upgrades
- Pre-wire friendly: GP10 wiring plate with diagnostics check bar lets you verify continuity before the device goes on
- Quick-swap covers: change markings (FIRE, ALERT, or unmarked) and housing color without replacing the device
System requirements
Requires a compatible Kidde notification appliance circuit (NAC). Synchronization sources include Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Kidde Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Accepts 12 to 18 AWG wiring.
