The Kidde GSA-IM2 Intelligent SLC Fault Isolator Module prevents a single wire-to-wire short from taking down an entire Class A Signaling Line Circuit. Install one between SLC segments and the module automatically isolates the fault - keeping the rest of the loop operational while you locate and fix the problem.

Built for the commercial installer

Rotary-addressed with dual rotary switches (TENS and ONES), the GSA-IM2 uses the same familiar addressing method as every other Kidde intelligent device on the loop. It draws just 175 µA in standby, mounts in a standard 4-inch square electrical box, and works with all KIR detectors and FX modules. Standard 12-18 AWG wiring - no twisted or shielded cable required.

How does the isolator module protect the SLC loop?
Monitors SLC line voltage. On a wire-to-wire short, it opens the circuit between the two nearest isolator modules, isolating the fault. The rest of the SLC keeps operating and other devices continue reporting to the FACP.
How many isolator modules do I need on a Class A loop?
NFPA 72 requires enough isolators so a single fault doesn't disable more devices than your design allows. Common practice: one per floor or fire zone. Max circuit resistance between isolators is 6 ohms.
What control panels is the GSA-IM2 compatible with?
