The KI-OSD is an addressable optical smoke detector for the Kidde Intelligent Series, using a photoelectric sensing chamber to catch slow, smoldering fires at the first sign of smoke.

The detector continuously adjusts its own sensitivity as dust, humidity, and temperature drift over time, then reports a dirty-sensor warning before it ever reaches a trouble condition — so maintenance gets a heads-up instead of a surprise. A twist-and-lock head speeds installation and service, and comprehensive self-diagnostics store test history on-board for reporting.
