The FX-IDC1A connects a single dry-contact initiating device circuit to Kidde FX Series fire alarm panels over a Class A (Style D) SLC loop. Rotary-addressed with two thumbwheel switches, it programs on-site without a laptop and drops into a standard 4-inch square box.

This module monitors one normally open alarm, supervisory, or monitor-type IDC and reports status back to the panel over the SLC. A slide switch presets alarm or supervisory operation at the device, with additional device types configurable through front-panel programming or the Kidde configuration utility. UL 864 and ULC-S527 listed. Compatible with Kidde FX-64 and FX-1000 series fire alarm control panels.

Connects to the SLC loop of a Kidde FX-64 or FX-1000 series fire alarm control panel. Wire per NFPA 72 and CAN/ULC-S524 using 12-18 AWG conductors (16 or 18 AWG preferred). Does not support conventional smoke detectors on the IDC - use dry-contact initiating devices only.

Does the FX-IDC1A support conventional smoke detectors?
No. This module monitors dry-contact initiating devices only (normally open alarm, supervisory, or monitor-type circuits). Conventional two-wire or four-wire smoke detectors require a different module.
What Kidde panels is this compatible with?

How do I set the device address?
Two rotary thumbwheel switches on the module set the TENS and ONES digits. No laptop or programming tool required. Supported range is 01-64 on FX-64 panels and 01-127 on FX-1000 panels.
