The Kidde Intelligent Optica KIR-OSCD does two life-safety jobs from one head on one loop: multi-criteria optical smoke detection and life-safety carbon monoxide detection. Fewer heads to install, fewer bases to wire, and one fewer item on the AHJ's punch list in occupancies where CO monitoring is now mandated.
Built for the commercial installer
Runs on any Kidde Intelligent Loop controller over existing SLC wiring. Rotary addressing 1 to 125 set with a screwdriver on the back of the head. Two dials, no programmer, no laptop. The onboard microprocessor analyzes the smoke and CO sensors independently and reports fire, CO, or both to the panel, so the response at the front desk matches the actual condition at the head.

System requirements
Requires a Kidde Intelligent Loop controller and a compatible mounting base. Standard (KI-SB / KI-SB4), Relay (KI-RB / KI-RB4), Fault Isolator (KI-IB / KI-IB4), and Audible/Sounder (KI-ABLT / KI-ABDT / KI-ABST) bases are all supported. For separated fire (TC3) and CO (TC4) tone patterns at the head, add an FX-T3T4 Temporal Pattern Generator.
