SKU:
KD-2452THS-110-R

The Kidde Genesis Series wall strobe drops onto a standard one-gang box and delivers field-selectable 15/30/75/110 cd output without removing the device from the wall. FullLight Technology produces even light distribution across the coverage area - no hot spots, no dark voids - exceeding UL 1971 and ULC S526 requirements for visible notification. At 110 cd max output, this red FIRE-marked strobe covers the largest spaces on your NAC circuit.

Built for the commercial installer

Genesis strobes are the most compact UL 1971-listed wall strobes available - under one inch of protrusion from the mounting surface. Pre-assembled with captive hardware and #12 AWG terminals, it installs on any standard one-gang box with no trim plate required. Optional trim plates cover oversized openings on two-gang, four-inch square, and octagonal boxes. Synchronization exceeds UL requirements (within 10 ms over a two-hour period) when paired with an EG1M Genesis Signal Master or compatible FACP.

Key features

  • Field-selectable candela output: switch between 15, 30, 75, and 110 cd without removing the device - setting stays visible through a window after cover closure
  • FullLight Technology: smooth, even light distribution across the entire coverage area with no specular spikes or voids
  • Most compact UL 1971-listed wall strobe available: under one inch depth, fits standard one-gang boxes with no trim plate
  • Pre-assembled with captive hardware: mounting screws and tabs built in, nothing to lose on the ladder
  • #12 AWG terminals: handles long NAC circuit runs on existing wiring
  • Synchronized strobe: exceeds UL synchronization standards within 10 ms, compatible with Genesis Signal Master and VM/VS/FX Series FACPs

System requirements

Requires regulated 16-33 Vdc or unfiltered 16-33 Vdc FWR from a compatible fire alarm control panel or NAC power supply. Strobes must have continuous voltage on the NAC circuit. Synchronization requires an EG1M Genesis Signal Master or compatible FACP (VM Series, VS Series, FX Series).

What candela setting should I use?
Depends on room size and AHJ requirements. Switch on the side selects 15, 30, 75, or 110 cd without removing the device. Setting stays visible through a window after cover closure. See NFPA 72 Table 18.5.5.4.1(a) for spacing.
Does this strobe need a sync module?
For a single strobe, no. For NAC circuits with multiple strobes, UL and ADA require sync within 10 ms. Use an EG1M Genesis Signal Master or a compatible FACP with built-in sync (VM, VS, or FX Series).
What electrical box does this mount to?
Any standard one-gang flush or surface-mount box. No trim plate needed. For oversized openings (two-gang, 4" square, octagonal), use the EG1RT-FIRE trim plate. Surface-mount: use 27193-11 red box.
Can this strobe do temporal flash?
Yes. Factory default is public mode (one flash/sec per UL 1971). Temporal flash for private mode is available by cutting a jumper on the circuit board. Temporal is for private mode signaling only.
Is this compatible with my fire panel?
Works with Kidde VM, VS, and FX Series FACPs. Sync modules GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, EG1M-RM and power supplies MIRBPS6A, MIRBPS10A, APS6A, APS10A also support Genesis sync.
How much current does it draw?
At 110 cd / 24 Vdc: 191 mA typical. UL max at 16 Vdc: 311 mA. Lower settings draw less - 59 mA (15 cd), 82 mA (30 cd), 152 mA (75 cd) at 24 Vdc. Use these for NAC circuit load calculations.
