The Genesis LED G4VWA-B is a wall-mount mass notification strobe built on Kidde's low-current Genesis LED platform. The blue ALERT lens provides clear visual distinction from standard fire alarm strobes, keeping mass notification zones properly identified without additional signage or separate wiring infrastructure.

Built for the commercial installer

The G4 mounts on standard 2-gang and 4-inch square electrical boxes using the GRSW room side wiring plate. Pre-wire the plate, verify continuity with the built-in diagnostics check bar, then snap the device in place. The ultra-slim profile protrudes just 1.5 inches from the mounting surface, and 12-18 AWG in-out screw terminals handle standard commercial wire runs. UL listed (S218, S5389), CSFM listed, FCC and FM approved.

System requirements

Requires a regulated 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR NAC circuit from a compatible fire alarm control panel or NAC power supply. GRSW room side wiring plate required (ordered separately). Optional trim plates (EG4TR red, EG4TW white) and surface mount boxes (EG4RSB red, EG4WSB white) available.

Can I mix this with existing Xenon strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED devices are backwards compatible with legacy Xenon Genesis strobes on the same circuit and in the same field of view. Synchronization is maintained across both technologies.
What wiring plate does this require?
The GRSW room side wiring plate is required and ordered separately. It allows pre-wiring and continuity testing before the strobe is installed, with a built-in diagnostics check bar.
How do I change the candela setting in the field?
Candela output is adjusted via slide switch under the cover. The current setting is visible through a small window on the left side of the device without removing the cover.
Does this meet UL synchronization requirements without a separate sync module?
Yes. Genesis LED strobes exceed UL sync requirements - within 10 ms over two hours - on compatible FACP or NAC circuits supporting the Genesis LED protocol. No external sync module needed.
What is the difference between ALERT and non-ALERT Genesis G4 models?
ALERT models carry "ALERT" on the lens cover for mass notification applications. Non-ALERT models with the same lens color are available for other signaling. Electrical and mounting specs are identical.
