SKU:
KD-G4VWA-G

The Kidde Genesis LED G4VWA-G drops visual mass notification onto existing NAC circuits at a fraction of the current draw of legacy Xenon strobes. At 28 mA on DC, you get longer wire runs, more devices per circuit, and fewer booster power supplies on the job. It mixes freely with Xenon-based strobes in the same field of view, so partial upgrades and retrofits don't require ripping out what's already on the wall.

Built for the commercial installer

The G4VWA-G is a strobe-only wall mount appliance with a green lens and ALERT marking, purpose-built for mass notification applications. It delivers 65 cd output and synchronizes to within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period using the Genesis LED control protocol - well within NFPA 72 requirements. UL listed (S218, S5389), FM Approved, and FCC certified.

Key features

  • Ultra-low current draw (28 mA DC): more devices per circuit, longer runs, fewer power supplies
  • Backwards compatible with Xenon strobes on the same NAC circuit and in the same field of view
  • Low-profile design: protrudes about 1.5" from the mounting surface with no visible mounting screws
  • Room side wiring plate system: pre-install, pre-wire, and check continuity before snapping the device into place
  • Undercover diagnostic test points for in-place NAC circuit testing without removing the device
  • Mounts to standard 2-gang and 4-inch square boxes at least 1-1/2 in. deep

System requirements

Requires a GRSW room side wiring plate (ordered separately as GRSW-10, pack of 10). Synchronization requires a compatible source: Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, or Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Recommended mounting height is 81 inches AFF (bottom of lens at minimum 80 inches).

Can I mix Genesis LED strobes with existing Xenon strobes on the same circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED and Xenon-based strobes can be mixed on the same NAC circuit and used in the same field of view. No compatibility restrictions between the two technologies.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard 2-gang or 4-inch square boxes, min 1-1/2 in. deep. EG4TW/EG4TR trim plates cover oversized openings. EG4WSB/EG4RSB surface mount boxes available where flush mounting isn't possible.
Does this require a separate synchronization module?
Depends on the panel. Genesis LED protocol syncs strobes within 10 ms over two hours. Compatible sources: Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster/Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Intelligent/Conventional Control Panels.
Is the GRSW wiring plate included?
No. The GRSW room side wiring plate is required for installation and ordered separately (GRSW-10, pack of 10). Pre-install and pre-wire the plate, verify continuity, then snap the strobe into place.
What is the current draw compared to legacy Xenon strobes?
28 mA on DC and 36 mA on VFWR - consistent across all lens colors and candela settings. This is significantly lower than legacy Xenon strobes, allowing more devices per NAC circuit and longer wire runs.
