SKU:
KD-EG4VWF

The Kidde Genesis LED EG4VWF is a wall-mount strobe that runs on a fraction of the current its xenon predecessors needed, freeing up NAC circuit capacity for larger buildings and longer wire runs. Field-selectable candela output (15, 30, 75, or 110 cd) means one SKU covers multiple coverage areas without swapping devices.

Built for the commercial fire installer

Genesis LED EG4 strobes are backwards compatible with legacy xenon-based Genesis devices - you can mix LED and xenon on the same circuit and in the same field of view. The low-profile housing protrudes about 1.6 inches from the mounting surface with no visible screws, and fits standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 3.5-inch octagon, or 4-inch square boxes. The included room-side wiring plate (GP10) lets you pre-wire the backplate before the device arrives on site, cutting return trips. UL 1971 and ULC-S526 listed.

Key features

  • Field-selectable candela: 15, 30, 75, or 110 cd via slide switch - no need to remove the device from the wall
  • Low current draw: 28 mA (VDC) or 36 mA (VFWR) at any candela setting, keeping NAC circuit loading minimal
  • Backwards compatible with legacy xenon Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit
  • Room-side wiring plate included for pre-wire rough-in before device delivery
  • NFPA 72 synchronization with Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Intelligent and Conventional Panels
  • Diagnostics port built into the base for device circuit testing without removing the cover

Electrical box compatibility

Mounts to standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 3.5-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes (minimum 1-1/2 in. deep). Optional trim plates (EG4TR red, EG4TW white) available for finished surfaces.

Can I mix this LED strobe with existing xenon strobes on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. Genesis LED EG4 strobes are backwards compatible with legacy xenon-based Genesis strobes. You can mix LED and xenon devices on the same circuit and in the same field of view without synchronization issues.
How do I change the candela setting?
Remove the cover and slide the candela selector switch to 15, 30, 75, or 110 cd. The device does not need to be removed from the wall. The current setting is visible through a small window on the side when the cover is closed.
What electrical boxes does this strobe fit?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 3.5-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. Boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. (3.81 cm) deep. Optional trim plates (EG4TR red, EG4TW white) are available for finished wall surfaces.
Does this strobe require a synchronization source?
Yes, for UL/NFPA 72-compliant synchronization (within 10 ms over a two-hour period). Compatible sources include Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels.
What is the current draw at each candela setting?
Current draw is flat across all candela settings: 28 mA on 16-33 VDC or 36 mA on 16-33 VFWR. This makes NAC circuit calculations straightforward regardless of which candela you select in the field.
